Description

The Piper District Office is seeking a Receptionist beginning July 1, 2024. Interested applicants should complete the online application and include a letter of interest, resume, and three current references (including a current supervisor). Compensation: Starting wage is $13.85/hour, with increases based on experience and education according to the classified salary schedule.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school degree
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites
  • 3-5 years of office experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism and courtesy

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs routine office duties as assigned
  • Receives, screens and routes all incoming calls
  • Manages district voicemailbox and incoming faxes
  • Welcomes, directs, and announces visitors appropriately
  • Receives and routes incoming mail and parcels
  • Orders front office supplies and keeps inventory of stock
  • Ensures reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary materials and hospitality items
  • Manages calendars and scheduling as needed
  • Coordinates scheduling of district facility rentals and fleet vehicles
  • Assists with administrative responsibilities for Facilities Department (creation of purchase orders, preparation of reports, etc.)
  • Provides basic and accurate information in-person and via phone or email
  • Maintains office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
  • Ensures confidentiality of student and staff information
  • Follows all Board of Education policies, rules and regulations as applicable
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the administration

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
