Piper Prairie Elementary School has an opening for a Site Security Officer for the 24-25 school year.

Qualifications: A minimum of a high school diploma, at least five years of experience in law enforcement or armed security, currently posses or the ability to obtain proper authorization to carry a firearm on school grounds
 

Compensation: $25-28/hour. Full single health insurance paid.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Monitor the campus and surrounding areas to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.
  2. Display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
  3. Assist in coordinating mandatory safety drills.
  4. Promote student responsibility for behavior and attitude by serving as a role model and dressing and grooming professionally. 
  5. Wear District designated attire in a presentable manner during assigned work hours.
  6. Intervene in situations likely to result in disruption or injury and direct students to refrain from such conduct.
  7. Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with ontime arrival to class and to assigned locations. 
  8. Assist the staff, police, and emergency personnel in handling emergencies or disruptive situations.
  9. Assist visitors with directions and securing proper identification. Intercept unauthorized visitors and escort them to exits. 
  10. Notify the building administration, police, and/or appropriate emergency personnel of any emergency, potentially dangerous or unusual situations. 
  11. Assistance in traffic and parking issues as needed.
  12. Other duties as assigned by the building principal to ensure safety and security measures are fulfilled.
